Located in Mitaka, a western suburb of Tokyo, Ghibli museum is an art museum planned by Japan's top animated film director, Hayao Miyazaki. The museum exhibits the history and science of animation. It also displays many famous characters of Miyazaki's films. The mazelike museum is both a showcase of animation studio and a fantasy land for both adults and children.
Hours of Operation 10:00 - 18:00 Daily *The Straw Hall Cafe is open from 11:00 to 19:00, but customers are not permitted to enter after 18:00.
Closed Weekly: The Museum is closed every Tuesday. Other: The Museum is closed at Year-end and New Year's Holidays, and for periodic maintenance.
Tickets Entrance to the Ghibli Museum is strictly by advance purchase of a reserved ticket which specifies the appointed date of the reservation. Reservation ticket (Admission voucher) will be issued from JTB USA. The admission date and visitor's name will be written on the voucher.
Change / Cancellation Date changes and cancellations are not allowed.
How to access to the Museum
The Museum is in MitakaInokashiraPark. To Mitaka station, take the JR Chuo Line. Approx. 20 min. from Shinjuku station. From the Mitaka South Exit, approx. 15 min. walk along the Tamagawa Josui "Waterworks" to the museum.
Eligibility The voucher is only available for non-residents of Japan.

Purchase Procedure

You can order by e-mail, phone, fax or visiting one of the JTB USA offices. Please provide us the following information for all visitors: Desired admission date, name, age, address and nationality.

Payment
You can pay by credit card or cash at JTB USA counters. Price includes ticket prices, shipping and handling fee.
3.
Voucher
You can pick up your voucher (reserved ticket) at JTB USA counters. Otherwise, your voucher will be sent by mail.
4.
At Museum
Please present your voucher and passport at Ghibli Museum entrance, exchange voucher for "film ticket" and enther the Museum.
